The N.A.T.U.RE. project, in which Farmalabor is the leading company, ranked first among the 118 projects that participated in the “Cluster Technology” of the Puglia Region.
N.A.T.U.RE. (New Approach for Real Uremic Toxins) is carried out in collaboration with the CNR and the Universities of Bari and Salento and aims to develop and validate at a clinical level an innovative technological solution in the treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
The Apulian pharmaceutical company will produce an “innovative symbiotic” (a supplement consisting of a mix of fibers, antioxidants and lactobacillus) and will monitor the uremic toxins before and after its administration.
The study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of the symbiotic on slowing down the disease to the final stage and on cardiovascular and metabolic complications, with positive effects on the health of patients and on public health spending.
