Farmalabor's experience at the INJOY in Barcelona (25 June - 4 July), an international event promoted by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), has been successfully concluded. INJOY involved young researchers and entrepreneurs from all over the world (from Uruguay to Thailand, from Scandinavian countries to India) with a single, ambitious goal: to change eating habits to promote healthy ageing. The event was developed in 2 parts: scientific sessions, with workshops on food innovation, and entrepreneurial roundtables, which brought together participants in working groups to develop winning businesses. The winning project was presented by Dr. Angelica Miccolis (Farmalabor Research & Development), who was able to respond to a specific need for personalized nutrition through new technologies. "With the NUTRISCAN project, we started from a rather common problem - comments Dr. Miccolis - that is to provide consumers with particular allergies or intolerances with an easy and safe shopping and choice experience. With our working group in Barcelona, we have focused on an app that, through the intelligent reading of the label of products of large retailers, can communicate to the customer the essential information on the presence of any allergens or ingredients that are not in line with their food plan. In a few clicks, the consumer can buy the right products and finalize the payment.
